Privacy policy

kaminote lets you draw, save, publish, and discover short pixel animations. For privacy questions or requests, contact support@kaminote.io.

Production details pending.

Google sign-in and information we collect

When you choose Google sign-in, kaminote requests only basic identity permissions (openid, email, and profile). Google supplies your account identifier, name, email address and verification status, and profile image when available. We use these to create and identify your account and authenticate sign-ins. The authentication system stores account links and OAuth tokens, alongside session records that may include your IP address and browser information for security. We do not request your Google password or access to Gmail messages, contacts, Drive files, or calendars.

We also store your chosen username, profile description, saved frames and layer settings, thumbnails, published playback data, likes, follows, comments, and information you send to support. Optional view measurement is described below.

Account age eligibility

During profile setup, after Google sign-in, we ask for a date of birth to check the minimum account age of 13. The submitted birthday is processed for this check but is not saved or made public. If the submitted age is under 13, profile creation is blocked and an account-linked restriction is stored to prevent retrying with a different birthday. Contact support@kaminote.io about an incorrect restriction or to request deletion of the account information already received through Google sign-in.

How we use and share information

Account and content information enables sign-in, private drafts, publishing, profiles, and community features. Session and security information helps prevent abuse and protect accounts. Support messages let us respond to requests. We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.

Your chosen username, profile description, published animations, comments, liked-animation collection, and follower and following counts are public. Your Google email address, Google account identifier, tokens, and private drafts are not included in public profiles. Your drawn profile picture is public. Accounts without a custom picture display the shared default avatar.

Google processes sign-in under its own privacy policy. Infrastructure providers may process data to host and operate the service; authorized administrators may access it for support, maintenance, security, or legal obligations. We may disclose information where legally required or necessary to address abuse. We do not give advertisers access to Google account data.

Retention and security

Account data, drafts, published animations, and community activity remain in the service database until removed. Sessions expire after seven days and may renew while you use the service. Authentication tokens are retained with account records. Access to drafts and account actions requires authentication. No system can guarantee absolute security; keep copies of important animations.

When a verified deletion request is fulfilled, associated account and personal content records are removed from the live service unless retention is necessary for a legal obligation or a specific security issue. Backup retention depends on the production hosting setup and will be disclosed before launch. Revoking Google access does not itself delete your kaminote account.

Your choices and rights

You can edit your profile description, change cookie choices, and revoke kaminote’s Google access through your Google Account connections. Revoking access may require authorization again to sign in. Email support@kaminote.io to request access, correction, export, or deletion of your account and data. We may need to verify account ownership; never send a password or sign-in code. Self-service account deletion and full data export are not yet available.

Where UK or EEA data protection law applies, we rely on providing the requested service for account and content processing, legitimate interests for proportionate security and support, and consent for optional visitor measurement. Depending on applicable law, you may also object to processing, request restriction or portability, withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing, and complain to your local data protection authority. Any international-transfer safeguards will be specified with the production hosting details before launch.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when practices change. Before using Google data for a new purpose, we will explain that purpose and obtain any required renewed consent. Cookie purposes that change materially will require a new choice.

Cookie policy

On your first visit we ask whether you allow optional cookies. We currently offer this choice worldwide, including the UK and EEA. Optional measurement is off until you explicitly accept. Rejecting it does not prevent browsing, playback, drawing, or sign-in. Use the Cookie settings button at any time to accept or withdraw consent.

  • Sign-in and security — essential: Better Auth session cookies (better-auth.session_token, with a __Secure- prefix on HTTPS) keep you signed in for up to seven days, renewed during use. Its temporary state cookie protects Google sign-in and lasts up to five minutes. These are used for authentication you request.
  • Your cookie choice — essential: kaminote-cookie-choice remembers acceptance or rejection for 180 days. It is not used to track your activity. After it expires, or if the policy version changes, we ask again.
  • Animation views — optional: kaminote-visitor stores a random browser identifier for up to one year after acceptance. It lets us count a play at most once per animation per browser within 30 minutes, including signed-out visitors. We do not attach this identifier to your account. Without consent, plays are not added to this measurement.

Rejecting or withdrawing deletes the visitor cookie and stops future measurement. Previously collected aggregate counts remain. Recent visitor deduplication records older than one day are removed when new counted plays are processed. Clearing browser cookies also removes your choice and may sign you out. Google may use its own cookies when you visit Google to sign in.

Terms of use

You must sign in using Google authentication. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account.

To report a suspected underage account, email support@kaminote.io with the username or profile link and a brief explanation of your concern. Please do not send identity documents or other sensitive personal information.

Use kaminote lawfully and respectfully. Share only work you created or have permission to use. Do not harass others, impersonate people, expose private information, post unlawful content, or attempt to compromise the service.

You retain ownership of your work. By publishing, you authorize kaminote to store, reproduce, and display it as part of operating the service. Published animations and usernames are public, and visitors may copy public content. Drafts are available through your own signed-in account.

kaminote is in development, so availability and features may change. Keep your own copies of important work. The editor supports image and animation downloads; it does not currently provide a general external-content upload feature. Nothing here limits rights that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.

For account issues, privacy requests, or reports of unlawful or infringing content, email support@kaminote.io. Include the relevant page link and describe the concern. See Contact for more information.
